Squad partners
Who to pair the class with
Each pairing states whether the interaction is officially confirmed or our reading of confirmed mechanics.
- Sharpshooter
Assault applies close-range pressure and strips cover; the Sharpshooter eliminates the priority targets that get exposed.
- Medic
Advancing into the open is the highest-Injury role in the squad, and Injuries are what drive permadeath.
- Heavy
A Heavy absorbing attacks in the open gives the Assault a safer lane to flank through.
Strengths
- Reaches objectives and flanks faster than static ranged Operators.
- Its official role explicitly includes attacking enemies in cover, which most ranged builds struggle with.
- Creates the close-range pressure that forces enemies out of entrenched positions.
Weaknesses
- Advancing into the open trades away the cover bonuses that reduce incoming hit chance.
- Close range means exposure to Injuries, which stack toward permanent death.
- Value depends on map geometry that is unknown before launch.
